I may take a crack at coloring that! I dunno what to use.. I'm thinking a mixture of rusty brown and gray under belly, or something to do with green, but with his eyes being green, it might be a little much.

I asked the artist to send me the inked and colorized version. Trying to talk him into making lithographs & selling on EBAY.
